Job Description:

New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to advance and support the goals of the largest physician-owned medical oncology practice in Northern New England through strategic creation, research, implementation, and monitoring of all marketing and communications functions. If you are a marketing visionary who isn’t afraid to be hands on, we would like to hear from you!

We are seeking candidates with knowledge and proven ability to manage a variety of marketing channels and work collaboratively with practice leadership and outsourced vendors to maintain and grow our presence and established position in Maine and New Hampshire. Candidates will have a deep understanding of budgeting, ROI, negotiations, digital marketing, social media, advertising campaigns, community sponsorship, community outreach, internal in-office marketing, and public relations.

As a key advisor, the Director of Marketing and Communications must be comfortable with communicating information in an accessible way for all audiences and be comfortable with presenting metrics as well as creative ideas to the practice’s executive leaders and board of directors. The ideal candidate will also be adept at communicating marketing information to practice staff to encourage understanding and buy in of marketing items and activities.

This is position is a hybrid role, primarily remote with the ability to be on site in Scarborough for weekly meetings and periodic travel to any of our locations based on marketing and communication needs.


Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5 years in a Marketing, Advertising or Development role
  • Knowledge and proven ability to manage a variety of social media platforms and analytics.
  • Proficiency with multiple computer applications, specifically word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software.
  • Exceptional customer service experience required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Confident, calm, persuasive, collaborative, adaptable
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Production, photography, video creation experience preferred.
