Job Description:
New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is seeking a full-time
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to provide professional
services to NECS Oncology patients and families in our Portsmouth,
NH clinic. We are open to both full and part-time positions. These
services include mental health counseling for patients and families,
advanced care directive planning, crisis intervention, development
of treatment plans, and evaluation of psychosocial needs. The
Clinical Social Worker will also act as the Coordinator for NECS's
peer mentoring program and be instrumental in the creation and
facilitation of other support groups. The Social worker
will work in collaboration with physicians, APP’s, palliative and
supportive care teams, financial advocates, and other staff to
support positive patient outcomes.
NECS is a private medical practice composed of 13 oncologists
and hematologists serving the region from 5 different locations in
Maine and New Hampshire. Our mission is to make life better for

Job Duties:

Conducts comprehensive, culturally sensitive psychosocial
assessments of patients, as requested by the care team.

Provides crisis intervention as well as counseling services
for patients, both in-person and via telehealth.

Develops and maintains an individualized plan of care based on
patient and family needs.

Works collaboratively with, and provides psychological support
to, the clinical care team.

Identifies relevant community resources and links them to
patients as appropriate.

Advocates for the patient to ensure quality outcomes.

Acts as a Program Coordinator for the Peer Mentoring program.

Develops and conducts Education/Support Groups for patients/families.

Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and committees, as required.
Travel: If looking for full time employemnt, this position
would also serve patients in our Kennebunk, ME location.
