Job Description:

New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is growing! We are seeking a full-time IT Specialist. The IT Specialist provides direct support to users across the practice. They are responsible for coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. They ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems, networks, and data. Primariy lociation in Scarborough ME, travel to all NECS sites, lincludingPortsmouth, NH, Kennebunk, ME,  and Topsham, ME is required. 

NECS is a private medical practice composed of 13 oncologists and hematologists serving the region from 5 different locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Job Duties:

  • Works with team members and manager to specifically administers: data backup system, antivirus system, windows domain, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, server-based and web-based software suites
  • Provides and creates custom scripting to automate tasks throughout the various networks.
  • Support of all staff technology needs and issues at sites and clinics through helpdesk calls, walk-ups, telephone requests, email requests
  • Workstation maintenance and problem resolution
  • Support for the many outside entities that access our systems
  • User account creation\management for company systems except those managed by functional areas such as HR, Finance, etc.
  • Windows domain Group policy creation\management
  • Conduct IT orientation for new employees
  • Works with all related software vendors, hardware vendors, ISP vendors, and I.T. departments to support: Project implementation, plan maintenance, plan upgrades, implement changes, customize processes, troubleshooting issues

Travel: Travel between NECS sites is frequent, mileage reimbursment avaiable.  

Experience and Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree computer science or technical discipline preferred
  • 5+ years experience in information technology support
  • Experience in the Healthcare field is a plus
