Job Description:

New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is currently seeking a full time entry-level front receptionist in our Topsham office. The primary duties of this position are to screen all patients and guests coming into the office for COVID risk levels by asking a series of questions, light office work, help in maintaining sanitization of the waiting room, determining if a patient has an appointment to see a physician, receiving treatment, or lab work and directing them where to go. This position is Monday-Friday 7:45 am - 4:15 pm. This is a perfect position for someone who is looking to start a career in medicine.

  • Screening all patients and guests coming into the office by asking a set of COVID related questions. Follows established protocol for giving patients surgical masks and asks them to gel.
  • Determine if the patient can come in or if they need to be assessed by a medical professional based on their answers to the screening questions.
  • Help other front desk staff maintain sanitization of the waiting room
  • Light office work as needed
  • Communicate with other team members as needed to manage patient flow
  • Cross-train to the front desk for coverage purposes.
  • Determine what time patient’s appointment is, what type of appointment they have, and directs them where they need to go.

Experience and Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; some college is preferred.
  • Strong interest in the medical field
  • Ability to verbally communicate in a clear, concise, and friendly manner.
  • Proven Customer Service Skills
